In the context of board level electroncis systems. The digital logics that we often encourter is used to meet the functional requirements of turning on, off, reset, power good indicicator, etcs. Often the term post on self test (POST) implies that when an device starts up ( boots), the hardware does a sequence of checks to ensure all susystems are up and functionals. In the hood, the handshakes signals are mostly carried out throught digital logics which is essential a indicator that tells the host device the state of a peripherhals or subsytems. This done through electronics components such as inverter, comparators, delay circuits, and resistors.
Open Drain Digital Logic Desing using Discrete Pull up and Pull Down Resistors
Enable pin: pull up to VDD
Reset pin: pull down to ground
Regulator power good pin: pull up to VDD.
